Frequently Asked Questions

Whether or not it's your first time, buying a home is always a big decision, and something you shouldn't take lightly. At Claridge we want you to be informed when you start your search for a new home. Here are some questions we often get asked by home buyers.

What are the most important things to consider?

The answer to this question can vary from person to person. For some people the size of the home might be the most important; for others it's the location, or maybe the perceived re-sale value. What underlines all of these different views is the idea of livability. At the end of the day a home is meant to be lived in, and should be a place where occupants feel comfortable all of the time. This is why we always design our homes from the inside out, focusing first and foremost on livability for you and your family.

What makes Claridge Homes different from other home builders?

At Claridge we pride ourselves in building expertly designed homes in the best locations in Ottawa. But what truly sets us apart is that we want to ensure that you get the exact home you want. That is why we offer flexible design plans, and the ability to put your own touch on your home, even before it is built. With personalized floor plans and custom features from our Design Centre, your Claridge home is truly yours - you can't it find anywhere else.

Do I need to get a mortgage pre-approval prior to looking for a home?

It is a very good idea to visit a bank or a mortgage broker to get a pre-approval before you start looking for a new home. A mortgage pre-approval is an evaluation by a lender that determines whether or not you qualify for a mortgage, the interest rate, and the maximum amount they are willing to lend you. This will help shape your housing search and give sales associates a price range to work with. The last thing you want to do is find the home of your dreams, only to get denied when you go to get to your mortgage.
